Asa and I played with pinhole filming today! He took a bunch of videos of me dancing around with different pin hole lenses on his camera to achieve different effects. Mostly it made me look like I had extra arms. I spliced together a few of the clips:
Watching it reminded me of one of my favorite things at the MoMA, this fantastic movie from the Lumière Brothers, The Serpentine Dance:
It was filmed in 1899 and each frame was hand colored! I found it incredibly captivating at the museum and am glad to have found it on YouTube.
Last week at origami night very little origami was made. Heather had brought a page-a-day calendar of kirigami that we all took part in cutting out:

And I learned how to put spokes on a bike wheel:
Origami night was full of new things and surprises last week. Someone brought a durian fruit and several people had their first durian experience there. I'm still too scared of that thing. Hopefully origami tonight will be full of fun craftiness and surprises as well!
Here's pictures of my new dress! It is made out of 100% duct tape and the leggings are 100% bamboo. I hand printed the patterns onto the leggings. The dress is lined with red duct tape, but these pictures are a bit to dark to see it well. It's the first duct tape dress I've made since 2004!
